Purple tweed jacket from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 1992 ready-to-wear runway show under the artistic direction of Karl Lagerfeld.
“Karl Lagerfeld's Autumn/Winter 1992 womenswear collection for Chanel was shown at Paris Fashion,” noted Bloomsbury Fashion Journal in 1992, “Black leather fitted pants and mid length pencil skirts were paired with woolen maxi length coats, and woolen and cashmere turtleneck sweaters. Evening wear included bodycon metallic embellished mid length dresses in lace and cotton, as well as garments constructed entirely in red leather. Black, white, and red were the predominant colors in the collection. Models, including Christy Turlington, Nadja Auermann, and Helena Christensen, wore smokey eyeshadow and dark lipstick. Accessories included long gold necklaces, oversized jeweled earrings, chain belts, and Chanel quilted handbags.”
As seen on Vogue in purple and Claudia Schiffer in the ad campaign.
