Long gold-plated necklace belt from Chanel’s Spring/Summer 1991 ready-to-wear runway show under the artistic direction of Karl Lagerfeld. “First it was stuffy, then it went wild – printed, quilted or dyed,” noted Vogue in August 1991, “Now fur is showing it’s natural side, dressed down over jeans and a T-shirt”. Patrick Demarchelier photographed Karen Mulder looking like a million bucks in a mink-lined faille jacket by Scaasi for Mohl Furs, Revillon at Saks Fifth Avenue; Marshall Field’s; I. Magnin. J. Crew cotton twill cap and necklace and ‘belt’ by Chanel.
